How to Assemble a Slot-Die Head | Step-by-Step Guide

Watch our short video to learn how to assemble a slot-die head.

Slot-die heads are critical components in achieving precise and consistent coatings for a wide range of applications, from printed solar cells to printed batteries. At infinityPV, we strive to make your work more efficient by designing slot-die heads that are easy to assemble, use, and maintain. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the assembly process for our slot-die heads.

Tools and Components Needed

  • Front part of the slot-die head (screws already attached)

  • Back part of the slot-die head

  • Meniscus guide

  • Shim

  • Allen key

Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

  1. Attach the Meniscus Guide
Start by placing the meniscus guide onto the back part of the slot-die head. Make sure it is correctly positioned and sits flush.

  2. Add the Shim
Next, position the shim on top of the meniscus guide. Ensure all the screw holes are aligned perfectly for smooth assembly.

  3. Align the Front Part
Carefully attach the front part of the slot-die head to the back part. Double-check that all components are properly aligned.

  4. Double-Check the Meniscus Guide
Before securing the screws, confirm that the meniscus guide is sitting evenly. Proper alignment at this stage is essential for optimal coating performance.

  5. Tighten the Screws
Using the Allen key, tighten all the screws evenly. This step ensures that the slot-die head is securely assembled and ready for use.

  6. Final Check
Inspect the assembled slot-die head to ensure the meniscus guide is straight and properly aligned.

Ready to Use

Once all steps are completed, your slot-die head is fully assembled and ready for action. Whether you're working with adhesives, printed electronics, or other coatings, infinityPV's slot-die heads provide the precision and reliability you need.
