Solar foils turn into functional art
First of its kind art installation uses organic solar cells as sustainable energy source.
Six infinityPV organic solar foils with a length of 7 m each are used as indoor energy source during the "Sustainable Hours" installation performed by Japenese artist Nile Koetting.

The installation is part of the exhibition "Les Liaisons ambiguës" at Maison Hermès in Tokyo, Japan, running from 21.12.2016 - 26.02.2017. The artist works primarily with intangible materials such as light and sound waves, while experimenting with the transformation of phenomena such as signals and scents into new modes of physical sensation and communication. More information can be found at Maison Hermès (Japanese) and ART iT (English).
The semi-transparent, ultra-flexible and lightweight infinityPV solar foils have been customized to be a major part of the art installation. The hanging solar panels are placed indoors behind the characteristic glass brick wall of the Maison Hermès building. Energy generated during the day is stored in a battery and supports the electric appliances used in the art installation.
