Make your own unique lamp with flexible organic solar cells.
What you need
- DIY Lamp kit
- 1 m of solar tape (bidirectional, no adhesive on the back)
- 6 x 0.5 metre wire
- 1 x switch
- 1 x electronics board with LED
- 1 x 105 mAh battery
- Busbar tape
- Sealing tape
- Utility knife or scalpel
- Soldering iron
- Flux pen
- Wire stipper
Flexible organic solar cells are a unique type of solar cell that deliver solar energy and design freedom to architects, window manufacturers, and others. They come as both opaque and semi-transparent solar panels that can be molded to curves and contours of bold architectural designs. This alleviates limitations of rigid silicon solar panels and allows installations on any existing structure due to the low weight of the panels.
The size and shape of organic solar cell devices are near limitless, and every conceivable shape and form can be envisioned. In this project you are tasked with designing a unique solar cell lamp with a battery.
